Sunderland’s Care Worker of the Month – September 2025

This month, we’re celebrating Vicki, whose compassion, initiative, and dedication make her our Care Worker of the Month for Sunderland!
Recently, a family reached out for support with their loved one, whose hair had become tangled and difficult to manage. Vicki didn’t just help, she went above and beyond.
She arranged for a hairdresser to visit, creating a calm, trusting environment. Together, they washed, cut, and styled her hair, leaving her feeling confident, happy, and cared for.
Vicki went even further. While the hairdresser worked, she gave the home a deep clean, making the space feel fresh, welcoming, and comfortable.
The family’s response? “Wow, thank you.”
When asked about the situation, Vicki said:
“I could see that due to a decline in the lady’s mobility, she was struggling with her self-care and housework. Spending time doing little things for the people we support takes nothing but a bit of extra effort. It’s just little to us, but big to them. I always try my best to help — just seeing the smile and them feeling happiness makes it worth it.”
