Stockton & Middlesbrough’s Vestra Star of the Month Winner – April 2026!
For Stockton & Middlesbrough, our April star is Sam, whose compassion, dedication, and positive impact shine through in the incredible feedback she receives from the people she supports — with one service user describing her as “her lifeline.”
One example of Sam’s dedication this month involved a service user who had been shopping independently at Tesco and unfortunately lost her purse. When Sam attended her visit the following day, she was informed of what had happened.
Taking initiative in her own time, Sam went to the Tesco store to enquire if the purse had been handed in. She provided a description of the purse along with the service user’s name and address. Thankfully, the purse had been found. Sam returned it to the service user, who was absolutely delighted.
Another example of Sam’s impact came from a gentleman she supports, who was so grateful for the care and support she has provided that he created a certificate especially for her, which read:
“Through your hard work and care, you have helped make my home liveable, comfortable, and safe again, giving me the ability to focus on my health….. The positive impact you have made will always be deeply appreciated.”
When presented with her award, Sam said she was “over the moon” to have been chosen and feels very appreciated. She shared that joining Vestra has been one of the best decisions she has ever made, as she feels valued and no longer “just a name on a screen.”
