Durham’s Vestra Star of the Month - August 2026
This month, we are incredibly proud to recognise Michelle as our Durham Vestra Star of the Month.
Helping others really is in Michelle’s DNA.
While travelling between calls, Michelle came across a gentleman who was in serious distress. Without hesitation, she stopped to help, contacted the emergency services, reassured him and stayed by his side until the police and ambulance arrived.
Her calmness, compassion and courage in what was undoubtedly a very difficult situation are truly admirable.
And in true Michelle style, once she knew he was safe and help had arrived, she simply carried on with her shift, continuing to support the people in her care.
Thank you, Michelle, for being you and for showing such compassion when someone needed help.
